We hope you can join us for our virtual February 1st meeting via Zoom. The virtual meeting will be available at 6:45pm, with the meeting starting at 7:00pm. This month’s topic is “Modern Traditionalism” by Joan Cain.
Want to spice up your quilting life? Do you long for something zippy and fresh, but are afraid to take the plunge? You just might enjoy “Modern Traditionalism!” Some of the most famous quilters in the world sit firmly on the fence between modern and traditional. Learn what it means, where to find it, and how to make it your very own signature style!
Joan Cain is a retired Nurse Practitioner who retired and traded her mask and gloves for a needle and thread! She was dragged…protesting…to her first quilting class almost 40 years ago by her neighbor and has been quilting ever since. Complicated directions in traditional patterns caused her to make her mission simplifying and demystifying the process of quilting so that quilters can find room for personal creativity. The word spread, and she’s been teaching at quilt shops, Guilds and shows since her retirement. She is the co-founder of Lakeshore Modern Quilters
