Happy Holidays! Our annual holiday party is December 1st at the Antioch T0wnship. **In person meetings, subject to change given the pandemic situation.
Doors open at 6:00PM, dinner is at 6:30 PM and the party starts at 7:00 PM. To attend the dinner, you must register and pay before November 24th. (Members will be receiving a separate email with specific details about signing up for the dinner.)
If you do not attend the dinner, you are welcome to join us for some special activities starting at 7:00 PM. There will be an ornament exchange, a fat quarter exchange and a white elephant gift exchange. You can participate in any or all of these activities.
#1 Holiday Ornament Exchange
Make one holiday or winter-themed ornament. Use any pattern and any technique that you like. Find a piece of cardstock – the front of a Christmas card is perfect. Cut it in half (a jagged edge is fun). Tape one half to the ornament.
When you come to the party put the other half into the basket provided. Participants will draw a card from the basket and match it to the card on the ornament.
#2 Fat Quarter Exchange
Make a bundle of four quilt shop quality fat quarters. (You can make several if you’d like.) They can be purchased new or cut from your stash. They can be coordinated or not. They can be holiday-themed or not. Package them as cleverly as you like. When you come to the party you will draw a number for each bundle you’ve brought. As numbers are called you can pick from among the bundles others have brought.
#3 White Elephant Exchange
Wrap a white elephant – a “treasure” that you no longer love and/or need. It does NOT have to be quilt related. We will have a RIGHT lively passing game to be sure that no white elephant gets LEFT out
Holiday Charity Project
It’s time again for the Charity Holiday Project. We don’t have a specific theme this year so any type of seasonal or non-seasonal item, such as mug rug, table topper, mini table runners, Kleenex holders, pillowcases, etc., will be great. We are hoping to again be able to collect enough items to give a gift to each resident.
Instructions for pillowcases and mini table runners are available, if needed. Please bring your Charity Holiday items to the December meeting. If you have any questions, please send an email to charity@nlcqg.org
