2022

Post Card Exchange

During our zoom meeting months of January and February, our guild will be sponsoring a quilted postcard exchange. It’s not complicated, sign up and you’ll receive an email at the end of December with your January partner. Send your partner a quilted postcard at any time during January and they’ll send you one in return! At the end of January, you’ll receive an email indicating your February partner and you’ll just repeat the process. Easy peasy!

Want to see the postcards exchanged by our guild members during 2020 and 2021?  Click here: postcard photos

Ready to sign up? Just send an email to: postcard@nlcqg.org. There will also be a sign-up sheet at our December meeting.

Program Changes for October & November

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the programs for our next two guild meetings will be flip-flopping.  Our Quilts of Valor presentation will now be held in November and our schoolhouse program will be this week.
Tables will be set up around the room and attendees will be able to rotate from demonstration to demonstration.  Schoolhouse has always been a highlight. Join us as we learn new techniques from our fellow members.

Northern Lake County Quilters Guild – 2022 Fundraiser

This year, for our opportunity quilt, we are offering “Nature’s Splendor!” a beautiful quilt made by our talented members. Nature’s Splendor! is 79” square and an original pattern designed and pieced by our members.  The design encompasses two popular blocks, the nine patch and the square-in-a-square, with green, purple and gold fabrics showcasing the beauty of nature’s flowers, vines and leaves.  It has been beautifully quilted by one of our members on her long arm machine.

To purchase tickets for this beautiful opportunity quilt, click the link below. Everyone who buys tickets must be an Illinois resident and provide an Illinois mailing address.

This quilt helps us raise funds to support our educational programs and to allow us to purchase supplies for quilts we make and donate to Project Linus, multiple Lake County nursing homes, and the Cancer Treatment Center. Our guild typically donates over 100 quilts each year, along with other smaller quilted items like Walker bags, fidget quilts, and mug rugs.
